Full Metal Jacket
Stoa gallery, Helsinki, Finland.
14.2.2025 - 16.3.2025
The image of a politician branded onto an alternative tin of extra virgin olive oil, as an attempt to challenge the concept of commercialisation of power and politics and its impact on society.
The painting is accompanied by a 15-meter long wall painting that covers the entire wall of the exhibiting space thought as a simplified continuation of the iconic landscape of Cappadocia in Turkey.
The work is presented at a double show with artist Baran Caginli at Stoa cultural centre in East Helsinki, Finland. The show explores the phenomenology hidden behind metal materials such as brass, tin, plated zinc, and copper and it questions themes of corrosion and corruption in contemporary society, influenced by extreme political systems.
